Minister of Justice Maja Popović met today with the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, H.E. Sem Fabrizi to discuss past and future cooperation between their respective organisations.

Ambassador Fabrizi noted that to date the cooperation with the Justice Ministry had been very productive, albeit with some room for improvement.

Minister Popović thanked Ambassador Fabrizi for the support EU was providing to Serbia in its EU-integration process, including assistance for judicial reform. In this regard, she singled out the EU for Justice – Support for Chapter 23 project and its Phase II which had begun in October 2020.

Minister Popović and Ambassador Fabrizi also talked about future activities of the Ministry of Justice aimed at combating corruption. Minister Popović said that combating corruption and organised crime was going to be a top priority for the Ministry in the coming period.

Ambassador Fabrizi congratulated Minister Popović on her appointment and wished her success in her future work.
