Under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Serbia, Mr. Aleksandar Vučić, and European Union Delegation to Serbia, this two-day High-Level International Anti-Corruption Conference will be organised by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia and EU-funded project "Prevention and Fight against Corruption".
As part of the EU project "Prevention and Fight against Corruption", the Conference will highlight and promote the complementarity between international and national anti-corruption and integrity mechanisms and authorities, including the results of the specialised law enforcement institutions in fight against corruption in the region and wider. The overall aim of the Conference is to strengthen capacities, define competencies and establish strong cooperation between anti-corruption fighters, both at the state and reginal level.
The Conference will aim at promoting closer cooperation and synergies amongst the relevant national anti-corruption bodies and authorities in the Republic of Serbia as well in the other Western Balkan Countries. Specialized and adequately resourced, the anti-corruption bodies are essential to fight corruption and promote the specialization of officials and bodies in charge of fighting corruption, and provide them with the appropriate means and training to perform their tasks. The participants of the conference will discuss the mechanisms and methods of combating corruption, as well as ways to strengthen transparency and accountability in both the public and private sectors, all aimed at eradicating a monster called corruption.
The High-level International Anticorruption Conference will bring together the Ministers of Justice, State/Republic/General Public Prosecutors and Heads of the state bodies in prevention and combating of the corruption from: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Montenegro, Northern Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Turkey.
Beside the high-level representatives of the Western Balkan Countries and EU member states mentioned above, the representatives of the Republic of Serbia's Public Prosecutor's Office, police (special AC departments), Anti-Corruption Agency, and other institutions and representatives of the civil society organisations will attend the Conference. The Conference will provide an opportunity to reflect upon the progress made and give expert's guidance for the future.
The working languages of the Conference will be English and Serbian. Simultaneous translation will be provided throughout the event.
