Today, Minister of Justice Nela Kuburović met with the World Bank’s Public Administration Sector Manager Roby Senderowitsch to discuss the Bank’s assistance to Serbia’s justice sector, as well as continuing the existing model of cooperation. Kuburović and Senderowitsch concurred that the World Bank ought to play an important role in setting-up new EU instruments for pre-accession assistance (IPA) through the so-called Sector Budget Support which was based on a justice sector’s projected progressive ability to meet transition criteria and indicators and to receive direct financial assistance from the European Commission.

Minister Kuburović thanked the World Bank for its assistance up to that point, highlighting the Serbia-Justice Sector Support Multi-Donor Trust Fund Project implementation.

Cooperation between the World Bank and the Ministry of Justice was also commended in the meeting.
