The Minister of Justice, Mr. Nikola Selaković, met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan, H.E. Nurbakh Rustemov, and discussed with him the improvement of cooperation between Serbia and Kazakhstan in the field of international legal aid.

Minister Selaković and Ambassador Rustemov agreed that Serbia and Kazakhstan have traditionally friendly relations, although this cooperation should be additionally intensified, both in economic and legal terms.

Ambassador Rustemov emphasized  that while striving to be a part of the European international conventions, Kazakhstan is also expressing its readiness to improve the international legal cooperation with Serbia through bilateral agreements.

Minister Selaković expressed his gratitude regarding the clear and unambiguous position of Kazakhstan  not to acknowledge the unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo.

Speaking about the reforms implemented in Serbia, Mr. Selaković pointed out that the establishment  of strong economic cooperation could be a good road to follow for opening of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Serbia as well.

In the end of the meeting, the Minister and the Ambassador emphasized that it is necessary, beside strengthening friendly relations between Serbia and Kazakhstan, to mutually acquaint the citizens of both countries with their culture and tradition.
