Minister of Justice Nikola Selaković visited the Chamber of Enforcers today, where he spoke with the President of the Chamber Ms. Aleksandra Trešnjev about making the enforcement system better and also about developing this profession which is a part of Serbian Judicial System since 2012.

Minister Selaković and Ms. Aleksandra Trešnjev, expressed great pleasure for the recently adopted changes for the Law of Enforcement and Security, pointing out that these changes were necessary for the further development of the enforcerer’s profession. They both stated that these changes of the Law will bring to a more even and more fairly redistribution of cases between the enforcerers, and that this will stop a monopolistic position of some Enforcers offices. Selaković highlighted that the adopted change makes the Chamber of Enforcers in charge of the redistribution of cases by the alphabetical order of the enforcers Register, and he also stated that he believes this will contribute to better quality and greater control of enforcers from the Chamber. They both said it is necessary to make citizens familiar with the significance and role of a enforcer, because the lack of knowledge is the main reason why this judicial profession has negative perception in the eyes of our citizens.

Ms. President stressed that the enforcer’s profession contributes to the establishment of financial discipline in a country, as well as to updating the procedure of execution, and this is of great importance, because the majority of old cases are exactly the ones that have to do with the execution.

Speaking about further changes of the Law of Enforcement and Security, which he currently works on, Selaković pointed out that by changes we have to establish an efficient disciplinary proceeding and control of enforcers work, coming from both the Chamber and the Ministry of Justice.

At the end of the meeting, Selaković cited that making this judicial profession even stronger has to be the priority for them, as he believes this will be essential to the further development of the profession.
