Action plans for the judicial reform and fight against corruption envisage a large number of measures and activities that are necessary to be executed in order for Serbia to attain the notion of the rule of law and create an environment for efficient operation of courts and prosecutor's offices as well as state authorities fighting against corruption, said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice, Radomir Ilić, during the opening of the Partnership Forum "Support to the judicial reform in the European integration process", which was held at the Palace of Serbia.

Ilić pointed our that action plans, adopted in the National Assembly last year, represent a basis for the operation of the Ministry of Justice and also a basis for successful drafting of the Action Plan for Chapter 23 related to the judicial reform, fight against corruption and fundamental rights.

"In our society there are people who are against reforms and introduction of the rule of law, however, the Ministry of Justice is intend to help regulating this field in Serbia because all the segments of the society must be reformed and no private interest can overpower the public interest", said the State Secretary of the Ministry of Justice.

Finally, Ilić said that the court should make just and efficient decisions, the prosecutor's offices should work proactively, and independent bodies in coordination with the state and in accordance with the law.

In addition to the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Serbia, organisation of the Partnership Forum was also supported by the World Bank.
