The successful cooperation between the ministries of justice of the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro could serve as a model for bilateral and multilateral cooperation to our neighbours, the countries of the region, Justice Minister Nikola Selaković said today in Podgorica, when signing the Annex to the Memorandum of Cooperation between the two ministries.

Selaković expressed his satisfaction that the expansion and strengthening of cooperation between the ministries of justice of Serbia and Montenegro was officially announced today, adding that the Annex also imposed an obligation to intensify and further improve the cooperation between the two ministries in the fields of international judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, European integration, judicial reform, and the enforcement of criminal sanctions.

“I am confident that the good and successful relationship established by our ministries and by us as ministers will be followed by all leading people of judicial institutions of the Republic of Serbia and Montenegro”, Selaković said. He also expressed his gratitude to the citizens and government of Montenegro for the assistance they provided to the citizens of Serbia after the devastating floods that had hit Serbia a month ago.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Justice of Montenegro Duško Marković stressed that today’s signing of the Annex confirmed the very good and intensive cooperation between the two ministries of justice. “This document, among other, defines the ways and means for exchanging experiences and good practice between the two ministries when it comes to the overall negotiation process which both Montenegro and the Republic of Serbia are currently committed to”, Minister Marković concluded.

The delegation of the Ministry of Justice headed by Minister Selaković also met today with the Deputy Supreme State Prosecutor Veselin Vučković, and the president of the Notary Chamber Branislav Vukićević, with whom they visited a notary office in Podgorica.
