The Directorate for Seized Property Management of the Ministry of Justice donated to the National Association of Parents of Children with Cancer (NURDOR) two vehicles seized from criminals today.

Director of the Directorate, Dejan Carević, donated to NURDOR's President, Todor Mančić, keys to a van Fiat Ducato and vehicle Renault Espace at the parking lot of the Directorate in Belgrade.

According to Carević, the Directorate recognised NURDOR's needs and accepted their request to award them two motor vehicles for use.

"It was not difficult for us to recognise their needs because NURDOR is a renowned association that has been fighting the hardest possible battle since 2003", Carević said to reporters.

According to him, NURDOR is famous for many successful projects for parental houses and purchase of medical devices, and is involved in the publishing and education activity related to the problem it is facing, Carević said to reporters.

He pointed out that today's delivery of the vehicles to the Association is actually the very purpose of the Directorate's existence, which is that the assets that were, as he pointed out, supposed to be "used for dishonest purposes“, obtain their true purpose and went to the right hands.

"In this way, the justice has been served in some way, because the stolen assets were returned to those from whom they were taken", Carević said.

The Directorate should find a proper purpose of the assets seized from offenders, said the Director and pointed out that it is of great importance for the Directorate to have good communication with potential asset beneficiaries, so that it is utilised in the best way.

Mančić said to NURDOR that the obtained vehicles were the most necessary thing for them at that point, because the Association had not have vehicles for a long time.

"We will use the van and this car to drive the children and we hope that they will be filled with children songs and laughter", Mančić said.

Movable and immovable property which has been seized from offenders since 2009 until today found its beneficiaries in a number of civil and social institutions.

In addition to NURDOR, there is also the University Children's Hospital in Tiršova Street, Center for the Protection of Victims of Trafficking in Human Beings, Center for Accommodation and Day Care of Children and Youth with Developmental Disabilities, a large number of kindergartens, city, municipal and provincial institutions, etc.
